Weekly jazz club on a Friday tea-time continues to go from strength to strength, featuring two bands each week, it draws on some of Wales’ most exciting musicians. Presented by Head of Jazz Paula Gardiner, catch the future of British jazz on your doorstep – but be sure to get here early if you want a seat!

Porthcawl Elvis Festival

Every September thousands of Elvis fans descend on the Welsh seaside town of Porthcawl for a unique celebration of The King. The feature events take place over a specific weekend each year, in the magnificent Grand Pavilion. In addition, The Hi Tide host over 100 shows during the weekend, many with free admission. Finally, over twenty venues in and around the Town form the Fringe Festival. not dead! Elvis lives, thanks to the thousands of fans and the tribute artists who attend this annual gathering of blue suede shoes, Vegas jumpsuits, and whopping sideburns in Porthcawl.

Dinosaur Babies take over National Museum Cardiff

You can see full size dinosaur skeletons and replicas, touchable models of dinosaur embryos and eggs, and even a huge 2.5 metre model dinosaur nest! This is a chance to get up close to the dinosaurs, learn about dinosaur family life, including how they cared for their young babies. Find out more about palaeontologists and their dinosaur discoveries, be a palaeontologist for the day and have a go in our ‘Big Dig Pit’. Or marvel at the two large dinosaur casts of a Tarbosaurus and Probactrosaurus skeleton.

This Evil Thing, acclaimed at last years’ Edinburgh Festival, is the compelling, shocking and inspiring story of the men who said no to war, told by Michael Mears in a breathtaking display of vocal and physical dexterity.

They will probe your knowledge with log lady rounds, audio-visual inquiry and all manner of macabre interactive fun! Expect free donuts, lynchian tunes and other treats! Since his last show he has become a husband and father, seen the UK vote to leave the EU and watched the rise of Donald Trump, all of which leaves him asking one question, why does it seem that no one else alive can correctly load a dishwasher? Come and see what Jon Richardson can do with words when he has more than thirty seconds to work with. Or should that be “with which to work”?
